When to Plant for Early Spring Blooms in Zone 4
When it comes to spring planting, think early! Spring planting can be done as soon as the soil has thawed and can easily be worked. If the soil is too wet, then give it a bit of time to dry out a bit so the soil’s structure isn’t ruined.
Nature Hills sells both bare root plants and container plants, both of which are available for early spring planting and can very successfully be planted as soon as deliveries are available in your area.

Of course, a spring garden isn’t complete without some of these bulbs planted in fall, but there are still lots of shrubs recommended by Tim that can bloom early in Zone 4. If you’re looking for flowers to plant in the fall for early spring blooms, consider reading this post!
