Muffins

Our family eats a lot of muffins. And I mean, a lot. We use muffins as quick and easy grab-and-go breakfasts (and snacks!) year round. I particularly love muffins because they’re easy to make large batches of ahead of time and throw into the freezer to keep fresh. I can then just pull out a batch of muffins at the beginning of the week, and we’ve got a snack and/or breakfast for us that’s healthy and homemade.

Here are some of our favorite muffin recipes that you can try too:

  • EASY OLD-FASHIONED RHUBARB MUFFINS
  • EASY, ONE BOWL BANANA MAPLE SYRUP MUFFINS

Homemade Yogurt

Making yogurt at home is a really great way to get a delicious product for a margin of the store’s price, plus a better tasting and healthier product. Plus, if I can do it myself rather than depend on someone else to do it for me, that is something I really enjoy!

We really love this homemade yogurt topped with fresh fruits or homemade strawberry jam. The creamy texture and the fact that it is super easy to make is a huge reason why this is one of my favorite easy homemade breakfast ideas.

Homemade Donuts

If you have some time and you’re willing to splurge a little on sweets, then these homemade donuts are really tasty treats for an easy homemade breakfast! Once you make a batch, you’ll have donuts for days, which gives you a quick and easy to grab-and-go breakfast.

Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are one of my FAVORITE breakfasts. They’re not healthy…but they are such a delicious treat. We usually save cinnamon rolls for special days like birthdays or holidays, and sometimes we’ll whip up a batch so that we can share them with others.

To make this a super easy breakfast, whip up the dough and shape into cinnamon rolls the night before. Then in the morning, you can just let them come to room temperature and bake them! Super easy!

Scrambled Eggs and Maple Breakfast Sausage Links

My husband loves a hearty breakfast more than a sweet breakfast, so this is one of his favorite easy homemade breakfasts. Simply scramble up some eggs with a dash of milk, salt, and pepper (you can add some vegetables in here too!) and add a side dish of homemade breakfast sausage links, and you’ve got a really delicious breakfast!

Sourdough Biscuits and Gravy Casserole

Sourdough biscuits and gravy sit on a gas stove top for an easy homemade breakfast.

This sourdough biscuits and gravy casserole is just like the traditional biscuits and gravy, except with the addition of eggs and cheese plus the tang of sourdough…which takes this dish up to a whole new level. I hope your family enjoys it as much as mine does!

Sourdough Pancakes

We eat pancakes a lot as one of our easy homemade breakfasts. One trick I like to do to save time on busy mornings is to make the pancake batter ahead of time. Usually, I’ll make the pancake batter the night before, let it sit in the refrigerator overnight, then use it in the morning for a fast and easy homemade breakfast.

Sourdough pancakes are really versatile, too. You can add in whatever you’d like, or just leave them plain. We often like to add in chocolate chips to our pancakes and then top it off with maple syrup we’ve made from our own small batch maple syrup operation.

You can find the recipe for the best chocolate chip sourdough pancakes here.

Homemade Maple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Another really simple, easy homemade breakfast idea is homemade maple cinnamon oatmeal. This easy breakfast is hearty, warming, and filling breakfast that is naturally sweetened with maple syrup. This quick and simple breakfast is sure to be one of your go-to recipes.

Homemade Toast with Peanut Butter and Banana

This one is really super simple. Simply pop a slice of homemade yeast bread or homemade sourdough bread into the toaster, cover it with a natural peanut butter and sliced banana, and you’ve got yourself an easy homemade breakfast!

Homemade Peanut Butter Granola Bars

These homemade granola bars are filling and really delicious. The reason I love this recipe is because it’s simple. I don’t have to slave away all day trying to bake the perfect homemade granola bar only to have it come out burnt or crispy. I can just whip up all of my ingredients in about 5 minutes, plop them in the refrigerator to solidify, cut and eat. It makes it an easy homemade breakfast to grab on busy mornings.
